Author’s Note: Feedback is love. - Percy didn’t bother looking up as a body invaded his cubicle and seated itself on the edge of his desk. He ignored them for the time being, adjusting his glasses slightly as he tried to finish edits on the last paragraph of report. He heard a very carefully planned sigh and very nearly had to suppress a grin.
“You could at least say hello,” Oliver said. “I’m only here for three days, you know, before they ship me back for training.”
“Well, if someone had given me more than an hours warning before he came into town, I could have been done with this,” Percy said matter-of-factly. “It’s your fault.”
“Well, maybe if I had gotten more than an hours notice, I would have,” Oliver said. “Are you just going to stare at that bloody report or see how much I’ve changed?”
“One minute,” Percy said sternly and he tried not to slow down his writing as Oliver began kicking the desk with the heel of his foot. “I will have security escort you out if you insist on doing that. You’ll get me fired.”
The kicking stopped and Percy set down his quill and straightened up in his chair.
“May I help you?” he asked, taking in Oliver’s sun tanned skin beneath his muggle clothes.
“Yes, you can skive off work for the rest of the afternoon and spend it with me.”
“I can’t do that. I need to turn in this report. The minister wouldn’t approve.”
“Yes,” Oliver grinned, “because being his monkey boy is so very fun.”
“It is,” Percy protested.
“Right, come on,” Oliver stood up again and made as if he were going to run to the exit.
“I can’t leave, I’m supposed to work until six this evening,” Percy said simply. “I was just taking a minute to say hello and to tell you to just let yourself in.”
“You are no fun,” Oliver said and he disappeared around the corner of next cubicle and tapped the girl sitting there on the shoulder. “Hello, beautiful, do you mind covering for Mr. Weasley here for my sake?”
The girl gazed at him for a moment and then nodded, smiling slightly as Oliver winked at her and returned to pull Percy from his chair by the back of his robes. He cried out in surprise and several people looked over at them.
“Oh hush, before everyone knows you’re skipping out on work,” Oliver said with a grin as he all but forced Percy toward the elevator.
